We're glad to have you come by to check out our website.  The First United Methodist Church of Schuylkill Haven is centrally located in Schuylkill County, on the west end of Schuylkill Haven.  We are a Bible-believing congregation that loves the Lord and has a heart for missions.  If we haven't had the opportunity of meeting you, we're eager to do so.  We're excited to share with you the marvelous ways God is working in our church.

Good Friday Service: Friday, April 10th service will be held at St. James Episcopal Church.  The Rev. Susan Wollyung will present the message.  

Angel Food Ministry Orders deadline is Saturday, April 11th, 2009.  Distribution Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 18th, 2009 from 10:30am until Noon.  Orders may be placed online by visiting the Angel Food Ministry section of our website (under the "Ministries" section), in person when orders will be taken on Friday, April 10th from 6:00-8:00pm and on Saturday, April 11th from 10:30am-Noon, or by mail.  

 VBS Information Released:  Vacation Bible School planning is in full swing!  VBS will be held during the week of June 8-12, 2009, from 6:00-8:30pm.  Our theme this year is ROME: Paul and the Underground Church.  We need the help of our church family to help make this outreach to our children a great success.  Will you answer the call by participating?  We need numerous adults and teens.  Specifically, we need help in the following areas: decorating, drama, crafts, group leaders, games, snacks, set-up & tear-down, marketing and more.  In addition, a variety of supplies are needed: snacks, drinks, and decorating supplies.  If you are able to assist, please contact Pastor Kris Perry at 570-385-3941 or via email at revkrisperry@yahoo.com .  Our next VBS Work Night is scheduled for Sunday, April 19th at 4pm.  Hope to see you there! 

Over 50 Fellowship Dinner:  is scheduled for this Sunday, March 15th at 6:00pm in the Fellowship Hall.  We will host an Italian Dinner.  All are welcome to attend.  Please call JoAnn Moyer (570)622-0166 or Donna Place (570)628-4532 and let them know that you are planning to attend.   

Youth Praise Band:  The next practice session is scheduled for next Friday, March 20th at 8:30pm.  Please contact Elaine Maneval or Creighton Byron for more information.    

FUMC Nursery Committee  is looking for a few helping hands to volunteer placement on the rotation list for the upcoming winter quarter.  Your service in the capacity on the rotation list would involve caring for our little cherubs during the 10:30 AM Worship Service only once every four months.  Snacks for the children are provided.  All that is needed is your heart, a smile, and love for God's littlest ones!  Please contact JoAnn Daum at the Church Office (570-385-3941) or Jody (570-366-1995) if you are willing to volunteer.   

The Fellowship Lunch needs your support! We are in need of people/ministries in the church to assist with purchasing or preparing meals over the next year.  There are a variety of ways to share in this exciting ministry with our community.  Please sign up in the Narthex or contact the Church Office at 385-3941 if interested. 

Prayer Chapel Update: We are in the process of putting the final touches on the Prayer Chapel and have received donations of many hours of work and are now ready to think about adding furniture.  We have received donations of some chairs but if you would be interested in helping furnish the room by donating a new small love seat, lamps, tables, etc, please contact Sonja LeVan at 385-3941. 

Nanny Position Available: If you would like the opportunity to care for a child, a church family is looking for a Nanny.  The family will provide housing and benefits.  Please inquire at the church office for more details.
